A superb opportunity for a NQT teacher to join a well-established and supportive department, or an experienced teacher looking to focus on their work/life balance, without the demands of whole school responsibilities.

Join our team at this very exciting time as Oasis Academy Brislington embarks on the next phase of its journey.  Our Academy is not an easy option, our staff work hard every day to make an impact on our young people.  Our students are kind, funny and have a desire to achieve; for the right candidate our Academy is an incredibly rewarding place to work.  All new staff have access to a high quality coaching programme ensuring professional development is supportive and fully personalised

We require a talented and committed Teacher of PE to teach across Key Stage 3 and 4.  The department is exceptionally well resourced with extensive outdoor fields, 3G AstroTurf, multi-use hard court, indoor sports hall and gym/dance studio. We also have a fully furnished Fitness Suite which opened after Easter 2017.    It is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9 Equality Act 2010) of this post that the post holder is male.

We are seeking an enthusiastic practitioner who shares our determination to develop a physical education curriculum that is modern, engaging and appropriate, supported by outstanding teaching.  There is also an opportunity to develop high quality, extra-curricular PE through our scheduled “Period 6” programme and our Rugby and Netball academies. Our sports academies provide opportunities for our students to grow and develop all year round in Rugby or Netball. Standards are high in our sports academies and this has to be reflected in the commitment students make to be part of them. There will be opportunities to grow new sports academies and candidates with experience in areas other than Rugby and Netball will be encouraged to help grow this provision.

The Academy is housed in an impressive £34.6 million PFI funded building which opened in 2008.  The state-of-the-art facilities offer a modern, flexible, technology-rich environment for teaching and learning, making it one of the very best equipped schools in the country.  The Academy is led by our Principal Peter Knight, and our strong and committed leadership team has secured rapid improvement.

Oasis Academy Brislington is part of the Oasis Community Learning family, a multi-academy sponsor with the express purpose of transforming schools into community hubs, through applying a holistic view of education.  As part of the Oasis network staff have access to a range of exciting career opportunities.
