An unmissable opportunity for an experienced, ambitious, inspirational, passionate and determined leader to join one of the largest and most successful MATs in the UK. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced and influential leader who is driven to make a real difference to the lives of our young people, unleash the potential and deliver improvement to one of our Secondary Academies in Southampton.
The successful candidate will have:
- A proven track record of effective leadership, strategic planning and clearly evidenced achievements in transforming educational provision as a Principal
- Extensive experience in the UK secondary sector
- A proven record of success in working closely with parents/carers, local schools & community and other partners for the benefit of all students
About the Academy:
Oasis Academy Lord's Hill is a rapidly growing secondary school, serving children aged 11-16 in Lordshill, Millbrook and the surrounding communities of Southampton. Currently graded as Requires Improvement for the quality of education by OFSTED in February 2020 the Academy needs to be visited to see its potential. The current new leadership team and staff have provided an excellent set of foundations for the right candidate to accelerate further the progress made to date. The Academy serves an area of deprivation within Southampton and is the centre of its community. The intake of the Academy has changed significantly in recent years, children are well motivated and arrive with attainment which is in line with the national average and they are well supported by a committed group of staff.
The Academy benefits from the support mechanism of the Trust which provides a bespoke curriculum, behavior and pedagogical approach, freeing teachers to teach and leaders to lead.
A unique feature of the Academy will see the successful candidate line manage an OFSTED ‘good’ preschool which is located within a mile of the Academy, whilst joining a highly successful community Hub which includes the Oasis Southampton City Farm.
We strongly encourage interested candidates to visit the academy, where we will arrange a warm welcome and have an informal discussion about the role with the Regional Director, Phil Humphreys and provide a guided tour whilst respecting COVID-19 requirements. We are working in partnership with Propelo to recruit to this position. Please contact Corrina O’Beirne in the first instance to arrange a visit on email@example.com or 01273 222 877.
