An opportunity to join our dedicated and passionate staff team in one of the largest secondary schools in Bristol.
The Specialist Centre caters for up to 45 students with an EHCP for ASD/SLCN. We are situated on a mainstream site to be able to access mainstream lessons where applicable, but have our own classrooms and space, where the majority of the students are educated in classes with a teacher and at least one Teaching Assistant. Our students’ academic abilities currently range from low level to higher level GCSE. We deliver the National Curriculum, differentiated to the students’ needs and support their sensory and physical needs. We have a hydro pool and a range of OT equipment to support the students’ development and can therefore support alternative therapies.
Our students are supported by a highly qualified and committed team of experienced teachers and teaching assistants, who work closely with parent/carers, ensuring high quality learning outcomes for all. We are currently seeking to appoint an exceptional ASD and SLCN teacher to join this talented team, who will have a demonstrable ability to nurture and support these students. The successful candidate will ideally be able to teach Food Technology and will have a passion for ensuring every child achieves their personal best.
We want to hear from you if you are interested in joining our team at this very exciting time as Oasis Academy Brislington embarks on the next phase of its journey. Our Academy is not an easy option, our staff work hard every day to make an impact on our young people. Our students are kind, funny and have a desire to achieve; for the right candidate our Academy is an incredibly rewarding place to work. All new staff have access to a high quality coaching programme ensuring professional development is supportive and fully personalised.
The Academy is housed in an impressive £34.6 million PFI funded building which opened in 2008. The state-of-the-art facilities offer a modern, flexible, technology-rich environment for teaching and learning, making it one of the very best equipped schools in the country. The Academy is led by our Principal Peter Knight, and our strong and committed leadership team has secured rapid improvement.
