The role and what we’re looking for
As the right-hand person to our SENDCo, your work will complement the strategy for supporting every one of our young people with special education needs to reach their potential. You will develop and lead high impact interventions for numeracy and literacy, liaising with teaching staff to embed these in a programme of integrated learning within mainstream education throughout the school. The role has line management responsibilities of a small team of Learning Support Assistants you will help them to develop further in their specific focus areas according to the SEND Code of Practice, monitoring progress of students throughout the year.
You will be working with a great team of staff who believe all students deserve our full support to achieve their very best, so we are looking for someone like minded. You must be passionate about creating change for the better within the academy, in the wider community. Previous experience working within a school is desirable.
We are an over-subscribed academy dedicated to celebrating success through world-class aspiration and a love of learning. We’ve been on a journey of improvement and development, becoming an Oasis academy in 2018. Our focus is on our children, staff wellbeing and our community; parents and the wider community are engaged with our school, supporting our leaders and playing an active role in community transformation through academy-led projects. Being part of the Oasis Community Learning trust we benefit from support and sharing of best practice from our regional schools, Regional Director and wider Oasis family.
